Over 600 guests from the testing, inspection and certification sector, as well as from industry and politics attended the large-scale event, opened by former minister and now president of the federation of the automotive industry (VDA), Matthias Wissmann.
In his speech Matthias Wissmann stressed the progress made in accident prevention over the past decades. The number of injured or killed people on (German) roads is constantly decreasing, also due to improvements in the technical equipment of the cars. With driver assistance systems always being further developed, accidents are avoided at the very source. The issue of e-mobility was also briefly raised. A symposium on this issue had been organised by TÜV NORD on 25 May 2010 in Brussels.
On behalf of VdTÜV, President Dr Guido Rettig (TÜV NORD) welcomed the guests. His speech and further information can be found at: www.vdtuev.de.
